The State of the Plate

Nancy Kruse

President
The Kruse Company

What's going on in the world of restaurants?

If you want to understand the economic conditions of your community and its potential impact on every business, look no further than the restaurant & hospitality industry. At our First Friday in March, Nancy Kruse, leading industry analyst, will share "The State of the Plate," to help us better understand consumer attitudes, opportunities for other business segments, and the future consumer expectations.

If anyone can provide some insight, it's Nancy Kruze. Ms. Kruse is the best-known menu analyst in the restaurant industry. She is a Contributing Editor to Restaurant Hospitality and Nation’s Restaurant News magazines, and prior to founding her own company, she was Executive Vice President of Technomic, Inc.
  • Restaurant menu trends are a reflection of current consumer attitudes and behaviors.
  • They shed light on opportunities for retailers in other business segments.
  • They suggest where consumer needs and expectations are headed in the future.
Nancy was a Woodrow Wilson fellow in Russian Literature at the University of Wisconsin and also received a Master of Arts degree from Northwestern University. She completed coursework at the Culinary Institute of America, where she is a guest lecturer. In demand on the speaking circuit, she has addressed groups throughout the U.S. and abroad. Named by Linked In as one of the Top 100 Influencers in the US, Nancy blogs regularly on food-related topics on the Linked-In website.
