The Atlanta Sports Council (ACS) was created to position the Atlanta region as the premier choice for national and global sporting events. By actively recruiting and hosting prestigious sporting events, the ACS works tirelessly to showcase our region’s extraordinary potential.
Learn how the strategic initiatives of the ACS support our region in securing these exceptional opportunities including at our own Gwinnett County venue, the recently renovated Gas South District. Dan and Stan will explore for us the significant economic benefits that stem from our relationships with three professional sports teams in Gwinnett County, and the untapped potential that awaits!

Dan Corso joined the Atlanta Sports Council (ASC) in 1999 after serving as Vice Chair of the Festival Division for the 1998 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. The Sports Council’s accomplishments include hosting several prominent sporting events such as the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Final Four, MLB, NHL and NBA All-Star Games, WrestleMania XXVII and ACC and SEC Basketball Tournaments. Most recently, the ASC managed the effort to successfully recruit the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship, Super Bowl LIII (2019) and the 2020 NCAA Men’s Final Four.
During his time at the ASC, the organization has been named Sports Commission of the Year by the National Association of Sports Commissions four times (2000, 2004, 2006 and 2015).
Stan Hall was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Gwinnett Convention & Visitors Bureau (Explore Gwinnet) in September of 2021. Explore Gwinnett houses the Gwinnett Sports Commission, the PGA TOUR Champions Mitsubishi Electric Classic, the Gwinnett Film Office, and the GCVB Board of Directors oversees the operations of Gas South District.
Prior to becoming CEO, Stan was the Chief Operating Officer of GCVB and Executive Director of the Gwinnett Sports Commission and Gwinnett Championship Foundation. In addition to his responsibilities at Gas South District and Explore Gwinnett, Stan is Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Gwinnett County Licensing and Revenue Board of Appeals and Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Sugarloaf Community Improvement District. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for Gwinnett Public Schools Foundation, Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation, Piedmont Eastside Medical Hospital, Gwinnett Police Foundation, and Mosaic Georgia. Stan also serves on advisory committees for the Gwinnett Public Schools Student Leadership Program and the Gwinnett Sports Hall of Fame.
