Get in the Game with Stan Hall

Stan L. Hall
Executive Director
Gwinnett Sports Commission

The Gwinnett Sports Commission, a division of the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau (GCVB), is responsible for fostering economic development in Gwinnett County through coordinating Gwinnett’s sports organizations, venues, and appropriate stakeholders to develop Gwinnett County as a leading location for sports events involving athletes at all levels.

Under Mr. Hall’s leadership, a professional golf event, now known as the PGA TOUR Champions Mitsubishi Electric Classic, was brought back to Gwinnett County, and has raised over $2 million dollars for local charities. In addition to his responsibilities at the Sports Commission, Mr. Hall actively serves on several Board of Directors in Gwinnett County. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Gwinnett Sexual Assault Center and Children’s Advocacy Center, Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Gwinnett County Licensing and Revenue Board of Appeals, and Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Sugarloaf Community Improvement District, just to name a few.

Prior to assuming his duties at the Gwinnett Sports Commission, Mr. Hall served as Director of the Victim Witness Program for the Gwinnett County Judicial Circuit. In his thirty-three-year career in public service he was a chief criminal investigator, and assistant to the District Attorney of Gwinnett County. Mr. Hall has received state proclamations in recognition of his exemplary community service from both Governor Roy Barnes and Governor Sonny Perdue. He was also recognized by the Georgia State Senate and Lt. Governor Casey Cagle for his work on the 2009 Child Fatality Review Committee, awarded a gubernatorial appointment to the Board of Directors for the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, and served on the U.S. Attorney’s Office (ATL) Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Mr. Hall is a fifth-generation resident of Gwinnett, where he and his wife, Janell, continue to happily reside. They have one daughter, Gabriella, and Mr. Hall is a life-long Georgia Bulldog fan.
